Gradal Individual® FrameFit®

Zeiss are one of the world's leaders in lens design, and are particularly known for advances in varifocal lenses. Their new varifocal lens, Gradal Individual® FrameFit® launched a few years ago, is entirely bespoke to fit your unique prescription and frame choice, making these lenses easy to get used to, with significant improvements over other designs of varifocals.

How it Works

Advances in computer technology, together with the skills of Zeiss' technicians, have made it possible to manufacture totally bespoke lenses for you.

Once you have chosen your frames, a number of measurements will be taken, taking into account not just where your pupils sit in relation to your frames (as with other varifocals), but also the exact shape and dimensions of your chosen frame and how the frame sits on your face, for example what degree of forward tilt there is.

The lenses will also be tailored to your personal viewing behaviour - how you use your eyes and where your arms feel comfortable holding your reading documents.

All this information is then fed into Zeiss' computer software, enabling individual lenses to be manufactured for you.
