How to look after your spectacles

Minor adjustments

Wearing your spectacles day in day out, taking them off and putting them on can cause wear and tear after a while, even for the most careful wearer. They may get uncomfortable, loose or crooked, or a screw may work loose and fall out. If this happens please come and see us and we'll be happy to readjust your spectacles as often as needed.

FREE after-sales service

Please call in before they become too crooked or damaged. Keeping your glasses in pristine condition is part of our FREE after-sales service, and we can also give them a good clean with our ultrasonic cleaner! We know how important it is to preserve the life of your specs.

Many modern frames are now made of flexible materials so that they keep their shape, and some have no screws to work loose. In general, the better quality frames need fewer readjustments.

Repairs

If your spectacles are broken we make every effort to repair them as quickly as possible. We even solder on the premises! We phone suppliers for new parts while you wait, so you know how long it will take. If the frame is not repairable we may be able to cut your lenses into a new frame. Being without your specs always happens at the most inconvenient time, and so we endeavour to get them back to you as quickly as possible.

Replacement parts and accessories

Nose pads commonly need replacing. The more comfortable the nose pads and side tips, the more fragile the material they are made from. We keep a stock of nose pads, cleaning sprays and cloths, cases and sports bands or spectacle cords. It means that anytime you lose or want to change any of these items, we can quickly arrange it for you.
